Ari Lurie (b.1972) grew up in San Francisco, California.  He attended Boston College and worked for many years with at-risk youth.  A self-taught artist, he began making works in his 40's. Using acrylics, ink, spray paint and graffiti pens. he creates primitive pieces centered around his love for the ocean and wilderness. These places have always been where Ari feels most alive and connected; where he goes to celebrate and seek solace. The expression of his works consistently explore Ari's intimate relationship with the land and sea. Ari lives on Mt Tamalpais in Marin County, CA with his two daughters.
